2024/25
Maple & May - our affordable and private
rental housing subsidiary continues to
support Choice, primarily in the delivery of
mixed tenure schemes. At Rosses Gate in
Derry~Londonderry, 42 new starter homes
were delivered and sold alongside 20
new private rental apartments. This is in
the context of a much larger mixed tenure
project comprising over 900 homes. It also
continued with a small project of 14 family
homes at Hillsborough Road, Dromara.
These offer families an affordable alternative
to nearby Lisburn, Hillsborough and Dromore
and demand has been high.
In early 2025, Maple & May announced
plans to develop 300 new affordable
rented homes across Northern Ireland
over the next five years, delivering the
first ‘Intermediate Rent Homes’ scheme
in partnership with the Department for
Communities (DfC).
As the sole delivery partner for this
ambitious scheme, Maple & May will utilise
a low-cost loan, facilitating the delivery of a
new affordable private rental product for the
Northern Ireland housing market, offering
high-quality, longer-term housing to eligible
lower income households.
We believe that people
deserve great services and
standards in homes, and this
is an exciting opportunity for
Maple & May. With mixed tenure
increasingly becoming the
norm, this complements our
social housing development
programme and allows us
to do more.
